Courses
Social Media: Introduction and Setting the Strategy
In this interactive lecture session, you will gain a foundation for social media: why it’s important for businesses to stay relevant to their customers and how to create a strategy for getting started so that your efforts and results are maximized. As an overview, you will also learn about the most popular tools, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and blogs. Plus, you’ll learn some best practices for measuring your success. While this course is not a pre-requisite for the other three courses, you are encouraged to register for this course if you want to ramp up your social media program with actionable steps you can start right away or if you just want to make sure you are being thorough and strategic with your existing social media program.
Social Media: Connections Workshop
In this hands-on workshop session, you will learn the essential elements that make LinkedIn and Facebook so important for connections in both B2B and B2C industries. You’ll learn how to use the critical features of LinkedIn to nurture the growth and effectiveness of your professional network. You’ll discover how to use Facebook to reach your target markets in ways that will inspire positive results. In this workshop, too, you will identify ways that work for you to help your connections, and vice-versa, to generate more sales and awareness for your business.
Social Media: Content Creation Workshop
Social media is about sharing information, expertise, and value with your unique voice. Content is what feeds your voice, and pulls in the attention and engagement you want for your business. In this session, you will learn how to find and re-purpose content already close at hand, as well as the types of content most appropriate for social networks like Twitter, YouTube and for blogging. During this hands-on workshop, you will learn best practices for each of those networks as well as how to easily refresh your content sources from both your company and the content that is available within your industry.
Social Media: Case Study Workshop
In this interactive workshop, you have the opportunity to learn from the case studies shared by your instructor to help you discover what strategies have been effective for companies of different sizes and industries. Plus, you are asked to bring questions and challenges you have faced as you’ve used social media for your business. This session will be conducted like a roundtable meeting, with the instructor and students lending their ideas and experiences to help you identify creative and actionable plans to improve your social media activities. The case studies - - good and bad - - will provide the basis for this session, but the real value of this session is the give-and-take between students sharing their own business cases and being willing to lend their own ideas to solve others’ challenges.
