An overview of solar photovoltaic systems for individuals who what to work toward becoming a certified Solar PV system installer. Students will gain technical skills and a strong foundation of how to design and safely install solar-electric systems. Topics include PV applications, solar electric fundamentals, system components, sizing systems, system designs, performance analysis and troubleshooting, and hands-on system installation.
Students who successfully completing this course are qualified to sit for NABCEP PV Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge exam.

Solar PV Installations Project
This is a continuation of photovoltaic systems course where students will size, design, specify, install and commission a 10 KW Solar PV system. This training installation may apply toward one PV installation project for individuals seeking NABCEP PV Installer certification.

PV Certification Exam Review
A one-day review for individuals intending to sit for the NABCEP Solar PV Installers Certification exam. Key elements of the exam will be reviewed, followed by practice exams.

BPI Energy Auditor
BPI Building Analyst Professional (Home Energy Auditor)
A training program designed to provide the tools needed to to perform a whole house energy audit. Students gain a working knowledge of the relationship between all the systems in the house and their effects on health, safety, comfort, and efficiency. Other topics include building science fundamentals, energy conservation strategies, heat loss calculations, duct testing and sealing, and blower door testing. Program is designed for incumbent energy auditors, utility customer service representatives, housing inspectors, HVAC contractors, insulators, builders and remodelers. Participants receive assistance with the Building Performance Institute’s (BPI) certification application, and will be eligible for the BPI written and field exams.
BPI Building Envelope Professional
An in-depth study of a building’s envelope, and that shell’s interaction with other building systems, designed to prepare participants to take the next step in Building Performance Institute (BPI) training. Students will obtain hands-on training in measurement and verification of a building’s performance, as well as training in installation techniques, BPI national standards, and project specifications to optimize a building’s envelope for energy efficiency.

BPI Building Analyst Professional for HERS Raters
This course trains students certified who are HERS Raters, or those who have already taken the HERS Rater course of study to be BPI Building Analysts and prepares them for BPI national Building Analyst exam. Topics include building science principles; indoor air quality solutions; home diagnostic analysis based on BPI standards; diagnostic tools including blower doors, monoxers, and combustible gas sniffers; combustion safety analysis; and energy performance evaluation.
